TEEN ADVISORY BOARDS (T.A.Bs)
T.A.Bs are teen advisory boards located at various branches throughout the East Baton Rouge Parish Library System. Each board consists of teens from public, private and parochial high schools as well as home-school students. The Teen Advisory Board is a teen oriented focus group. T.A.Bs offers feedback from teens to librarians to try and introduce program ideas to, for and about teens. Teens meet bimonthly to plan programs, review books and introduce issues of concern to teens. Teens in such groups suggest books and magazines for purchase, publish reviews, suggest, plan and implement public programs and services, scope out new websites, create book displays, and keep their libraries up to date with popular culture. By joining T.A.Bs, teens will:
