The role of Reference Services is to assemble and maintain a collection of quality materials in many formats and to assist you in using the collection for your information needs. The Reference Division provides the following services to you:

• Information assistance to walk-in patrons
• Information assistance via phone, email, text message or interlibrary loan
• Online databases
• Community Information Database
• Comprehensive reference collection including books, electronic resources, periodicals, and microfilm
• Vertical file of newspaper clippings relating to Baton Rouge and Louisiana
• Louisiana Government documents
