Outreach Services

East Baton Rouge Parish Library staff provide outreach services to elderly residents of retirement complexes, assisted living centers and nursing homes. Librarian Brenda Irvin is in charge of this special service. She and other staff use a recently purchased outreach vehicle to enhance the existing service of providing books and other materials to these senior populations.

Patrons are able to select from an extensive collection of large print and regular print books and popular audio tapes. Requests for specific titles are welcome.

Currently, 20 sites are served with visits on an alternate week rotation. Some sites are served with depository collections that are restocked monthly.
