The Interlibrary Loan Service locates and borrows requested materials not owned by the EBRP Library. We can borrow books, journal articles and other materials, although sometimes it is difficult to find a willing lender for non-print media. The cost of this service is usually free; however, sometimes lenders charge a fee for photocopies of articles.
Submit an Interlibrary Loan Request online or talk to a staff member at any Library branch to assist you. Your request will be processed and the material, if available, should arrive in about 2 weeks. Items are checked out to you for the normal 3 week period and most items borrowed through Interlibrary Loan can be renewed at least one time.
The following materials are generally NOT available through Interlibrary Loan:
- Entire issues of a periodical
- Most genealogical material
- Current-year materials
- Reference books
- Course textbooks
- Recent, un-microfilmed newspapers
- Bulky or fragile items
- Rare or valuable material such as manuscripts
