William Reginald Morrison was the oldest child of the late Willie and Polly Morrison of Tunica, LA. He received his elementary education in the New Orleans Public Schools and in the Lutheran Schools in that city. He graduated from McKinley High School in Baton Rouge, LA in 1931 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1948 from Leland College.
In 1934, he married Mary Dickerson. To this union two sons were born, Reginald Jerome and Ronald Ogden Morrison.
He was called to ordination by the Union Baptist Church of Brusly, LA in 1952. Following several fruitful years at Union Baptist Church, Rev. Morrison accepted the pastoral duties at Elm Park Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA where he served for 38 years until his untimely death.
In addition to the devotion and commitment to the Elm Park family, he served as treasurer of the Emmanuel Baptist Church Aid Association and held membership in the 4th District Missionary Baptist Association.
He was a retired employee of Exxon Refinery and a member of the Exxon Annuitant Club of Baton Rouge. He served as Chaplain of the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 18 years and was the first chaplain of the McKinley High School Alumni Association.
He died on Thursday, December 23, 1993 in Baton Rouge, LA at the age of 86.
