HUGHES MEMORIAL UNITED METHODISTCirca. 1927
"The Hughes Memorial United Methodist Church was founded in 1927 by a small group of people in the Eden Park area. They were led by Rev. Fate Thomas. They started out worshiping in a brush arbor until a small church could be built. The second church was built in 1935. The current sanctuary building was constructed in1972 and consecrated on Jan. 28, 1973. The pastor at that time was Rev. W. J. Miller.
The church has been served by the following pastors: Fate Thomas, Slone, J.S. Dixon, C.T. Wethers, William Jarrell, A.E. Edwards, W.H. Willis, J.F. Johnson, E.C. Slater, W.D. Martin, William Miller."
