 Greater King David

"The Greater King David Baptist Church enjoys a rich and glorious history, dating back to 1922. The church, which derived its name from one of Biblical history’s greatest kings, King David, Through the years this church grew and prospered under the leadership of five (5) pastors (all deceased) that included Rev. Willie Wheeler, Rev. Joe Martin, Rev. A.D. Alexander, Rev. Louis Brown, and Rev. Isaiah H. Warner.

Greater King David’s current pastor, Rev. John E. Montgomery,II was elected in 1988. He has brought to us the “Movement”, which involves the Master, His Mind, Mission, Means, and Methods. It is a way of life at Greater King David and covers the total church. This movement has given birth to the” Movement of Christ Ministries,” where its membership of more than 4,000 is “Reaching the World Through the Word and Work of Christ. Under Pastor Montgomery’s leadership a second location was acquired at 7305 Harry Drive and two additional worship services have been added at this location (7:00 a.m and 8:30 a.m.), while continuing the traditional worship service at the North Location at 11:00 a.m. each Sunday morning."
