Vertical File Collections
Along with our many books on Black History and the Civil Rights Movement in Louisiana and the nation, the Library also has an extensive collection newspaper clippings. These clippings document the events, incidents, people and activities that have created the rich tapestry that is the African American Community in Baton Rouge, and are an invaluable resource to the citizens of the parish.
While most of our branches have these clippings files, Vertical File collections that feature news stories on our African American community are located at the Main Library on Goodwood, the Scotlandville Branch Library, the Delmont Gardens Branch Library, and the Carver Branch Library.
